    • harlem, a ‘third-world country’?

Written by eLbie in zEn at 7:51 am on Sep, 22 2008

[currently] in bed looking at the news, wondering, who out there really cares?

my weekend was pretty amazing. i came to my real home by running out of my former one like bat out of hell.i actually left EARLY, imagine that. my ride was short, mainly due to the illegal speed i was involved in.  when i got into town, me and neffy tried to do some msfortune work but the planets weren’t in favor of it that day. we got caught up on saturday tho.. along with my laundry. even did a little video (<-- click that) about our adventures in mocha 'lounge & grill' in Harlem.

then yesterday was the african american day parade in harlem. i ended up there unexpectedly but was happy to be there. that is UNTIL i saw little disasters explode everywhere.

mainly- it was the outburst of the too-many-black-people-per-square-foot [and the cops are allergic] syndrome.

*sigh* i saw 3 police officers beating a young guy that was not involved in anything illegal. i wanted to blog about every detail but the fact that no news media even showed highlights of the parade [good or bad] makes me feel like being silent…..

      i can’t

        i feel you hon
        but
        if you can manage
        id love for you
        to recount
        what you witnessed
        you see
        thats how they win
        not only by
        beating us
        physically
        but by
        us
        losing hope
        even if
        one person
        gets something
        from the filth you witnessed
        i think
        thats all
        that matters

        i hope
        the transition
        to new york
        has been a smooth one
        for you
        otherwise
