i saw this video sometime ago and it was SO necessary. as an artist, i get pressure from the world that my non-artistic counterparts don’t. funny that everyone that isn’t an artist always has something to say about MY shit. my music, my blog, my pictures.. whatever i produce, i consider to be a part of my creative real estate and the folks that walk around ‘looking’ always have demands about what i should or shouldnt do.

i do it too. i appreciate the arts as much as i contribute and i have my opinions and demands about artists too…. but i always try to keep a realistic prospective. i’m never too lost in myself to not see that they are all just like ME. an artist… out here dibbling and dabbling on our canvas until we paint that ONE beautiful picture that ends up being our TICKET outta starving-artistdom.

frenemies. how many of us have had them? *raises hand* u know those useless people in your life that really only come around when it can somehow benefit them. as much tough talking i might do, i am very sensitive and i get hurt rather easily [but only] if i care about you. for that reason, i am EXTREMELY selective of who i choose to share my space with.

there are very few souls on this planet that i consider to be my friends. honestly, i can count them on ONE hand. as for the ‘enemy’ kind, i’ve come across more of those than i can even count.

i know i’ve written about this before but, i will tell you about one recent example, lets call her - betty. betty and i met at an industry event and instantly clicked. it was wild. our energies were just drawn to each other. that same day, we were giggling and laughing at the same exact stuff and even our quirks were compatible. [long story short] i truly considered this person ‘one of the few’. we shared secrets, confided in one another, even called each other bffs after 5 years of friendship. i HATE that i gave her that much status in my life but whatevs. #liveandlearn

in any case, things started going south when i became an alibi more than i was an actual friend. when i was more an audience to her foolery, than i was a confidant. she would tell the person she was dating that she was out with me, when in fact, she was out with godknowswho cheating on them. smh.

i don’t condone lying and hurting people that love and care about you- in any shape or form. eventually, i was over it and over her. i am way too sensitive to energy to be around vindictive and sneaky people. i’m allergic dammit.

so imagine how i felt when the heffa was using ME to help her raggedy shenanigans. no ma’am. i am not the one.

so of course, i chose to distance myself from her and anyone else that is a take take take typa person. u ain’t gotta take from me bookat, i give freely. BYE. imma take a nap now. [read: watch tv]
